Just got an update from the National Meteorological Department that the Air Pollutant Index (API) level in Kuala Lumpur city centre has soared to 460, clearly in the Hazardous category, which is represented by APIs of 300 and above.
It IS really THAT bad out there and I wish I had a camera to record this. Peering outside through the thick smog, the Petronas Twin Towers, situated less than 500 metres away from my office building, is hardly visible.
Only Port Klang has it worse off so far, with an API of 480. Terrible.
Dang those Sumatran fires...when will they ever learn??
